Start here to calibrate. 2. Domaine Alice Hartmann in Wormeldange — small, serious, riesling from the Koeppchen slope that rivals German Mosel neighbours. Book ahead, €25 for a proper flight. 3. Bernard-Massard in Grevenmacher — the crémant heavyweight, factory-scale but a genuinely interesting cellar tour ending in three glasses of sparkling.

Do I need to drive?
You can reach Remich, Wormeldange and Grevenmacher by bus 450 or 130 from Luxembourg City in about an hour, so no. The MoselleTrain tourist boat also links riverside villages in summer. Driving between wineries means someone has to stay dry.
What's the signature grape?
Elbling is the historic Moselle grape, light and low-alcohol. Riesling is the quality benchmark. Crémant de Luxembourg (traditional-method sparkling) is what most locals actually drink at celebrations and it's genuinely good value at €12-20 a bottle.
