Who it suits
Limpertsberg is the plateau north of Ville Haute, home to the University of Luxembourg's original campus, the Glacis square (where the Schueberfouer funfair runs in late August) and quiet residential avenues. Stay here if you want a bourgeois neighbourhood feel, the Théâtre National on your doorstep, and easy tram access without paying old-town prices. It suits families, longer stays, and anyone attending a conference at Limpertsberg's campus buildings.
It does not suit anyone with a single night in town who wants to maximise sightseeing time. Every trip involves either a 15-minute walk or a tram stop.
What is walkable
The Glacis, the Théâtre des Capucins' sister venue Grand Théâtre, and Parc Municipal are all a short walk. The tram runs down Avenue de la Faïencerie to Hamilius. Kinepolis cinema and the Coque are one tram stop away in Kirchberg. Restaurants on Avenue Pasteur and Rue des Glacis skew towards local lunches, and prices are 20% below the plateau.
