Cents area guide: suburban, cheap, near the airport

Who it suits

Cents perches on the ridge east of Clausen, above the Alzette valley and beside the road out to the airport. Stay here if you have an early flight, want a driveway rather than a paid garage, and don’t mind taking a bus everywhere. It suits transit travellers, budget-conscious business visitors and anyone with a rental car who wants to avoid city parking fees.

It does not suit sightseers. Cents has no tourist attractions and few restaurants; you leave the neighbourhood for everything except the bakery and the grocery store.

Getting around

Bus 16 runs from Cents through Neudorf and up to the airport in about 15 minutes, and continues to the centre in the other direction. Bus 29 also links Cents to Hamilius. Findel airport is 10 minutes by car. The main practical draw is that you can find a room with parking under 100 EUR when everything central sits at 180 EUR or more.

Frequently asked questions

Can I walk from Cents to the airport?

Not really — it is 40-50 minutes across busy roads with no pavement in places. Bus 16 is free and takes 12-15 minutes.

Is Cents worth it if I don’t have a flight?

Only if the price gap is significant. For sightseeing, Bonnevoie or Gare gives better value because you save time on transport.
