The reliable options in Luxembourg City

Sofitel Le Grand Ducal in Gare has two 22 kW Type 2 chargers in its underground garage, free for guests but often taken by 6pm — arrive earlier or pre-book with the concierge. Le Royal on Boulevard Royal added four Chargepoint units in 2024 and charges around $0.45 per kWh, which undercuts most public rates in Ville Haute. Melia Luxembourg on Kirchberg has the most reliable setup: six chargers in the basement, accessible with your room card, and they never seem to be all full because business guests mostly use taxis to the EU institutions.

Novotel Kirchberg and Hotel Parc Belair both have two chargers each, but the Novotel's are slower 11 kW units — fine overnight, useless if you need a top-up before a morning drive to Brussels. Parc Belair also opens its chargers to non-guests via the app, so availability is unpredictable. If you’re driving a Tesla, note that none of these are Superchargers; the closest is the Foetz station 20 minutes south.

Beyond the capital
