The Moselle base
Remich sits on the Luxembourgish bank of the Moselle river, facing Germany across the water. It is a wine-tourism centre with Caves St Martin and Domaines Vinsmoselle within walking distance, plus a long riverside promenade and a Sunday morning market in summer. Hotels are mostly mid-range family-run: Hotel des Vignes, Hotel Saint-Nicolas and similar, with rooms $90-140 including breakfast.
Bus 175 from Luxembourg Central Station takes about 40-50 minutes. The Moselle boat services (Princesse Marie-Astrid) run in warmer months between Schengen and Wasserbillig.
